Nigel Farage calls for something “radical” to be done about the Calais migrant crisis

Nigel Farage has warned the British public that unless “something radical is done it is only a matter of time” before a British lorry driver is killed as a result of the Calais migrant crisis.

UKIP leader Nigel Farage is no stranger to controversy surrounding immigrants entering the UK however, his latest outburst delivers a sickening blow to human kind.

To hint that for any reason a British persons life matters more than the nine migrants that have been killed trying to get on trains and lorry’s in the last eight weeks is extremely distasteful to say the least.

It seems to be the way that British media and politicians would have us believe that the ‘Calais’ migrants are vermin and less deserving than us.

A Guardian documentary identified what it is like for the migrants in Calais who live in a migrant camp known as ‘The Jungle’ and who’s goal is to get on a lorry or train and travel to Great Britain to make a better life for themselves and their families. Sometimes it is easy to forget that the migrants are humans just like ourselves, even more so when politicians and media commentators describe them as ‘swarms’ and other dehumanising words.

Up to 1000 migrants are stopped from entering Britain illegally every night and so far the only solution to the problem that David Cameron has offered is that Britain will increase their efforts to deport people who have entered Britain illegally.

The crisis will certainly not end soon unless something substantial changes. It is almost certain that the media will simply cease from reporting the ongoing crisis before a permanent solution is found.
